2025年“苗族姊妹节”系列活动将于4月11日至4月19日在贵州省台江县举行。今年的姊妹节以“锦绣黔东南千年姊妹情”为主题，创新融合苗族民俗、非遗展演与体育赛事，推出了19项特色活动，为游客打造了一场沉浸式的苗族文化体验之旅。

The Sister Festival will be held from April 11 to April 19 in Taijiang county, Guizhou province. Under the theme "Qiandongnan Colors, Forever Sisters", this year's celebration creatively blends Miao ethnic customs, intangible cultural heritage showcases, and sporting events into 19 specially designed activities, offering visitors a fully immersive Miao cultural experience.

苗族姊妹节是流传于台江县老屯、施洞一带的传统节日，曾被誉为“藏在花蕊中的节日”和“世界上最古老的情人节”。每逢农历三月十五日至十七日，当地青年男女便会通过踩芦笙、游方对歌、互赠姊妹饭等仪式传递情意、互诉衷肠。

The Sister Festival, a traditional festival widely celebrated by the Miao ethnic group in the Laotun and Shidong areas of Taijiang County, has been romantically hailed as "A Festival Nestled in Blossoms" and "The Oldest Valentine's Day in the World". During the 15th to the 17th day of the third lunar month, local young people will participate in many collective activities such as Lusheng dancing, love songs singing, and "Sister Rice"exchanging to pursue love and convey affection.

姊妹节承载着苗族社会早期的婚恋习俗与社群记忆。相传，这一节日源于苗族传说中金丹与阿娇的爱情故事。金丹与阿娇自幼青梅竹马，情投意合，然而他们的爱情却遭到父母与族人的阻挠。为了维系这份感情，阿娇常常将糯米饭藏于针线篮中，偷偷带给心上人。经过一番顽强的抗争，二人终于结成夫妻。为了纪念金丹阿娇，吃姊妹饭成为姊妹节的重要仪式。

The Sister Festival carries the love customs and the community memories of the Miao ethnic group. It is said that this festival originated from the love story of JinDan and AJiao. JinDan and AJiao were childhood sweethearts and got along very well with each other. However, their love was obstructed by their parents and clansmen. In order to maintain this relationship, AJiao often hid glutinous rice in her needlework basket and secretly brought it to her beloved. After a tough struggle, the two finally got married. In order to commemorate JinDan and AJiao, exchanging and eating the "Sister Rice" has become an important ritual of the Sister Festival.

姊妹饭是一种五彩糯米饭。姊妹节将至之时，苗族姑娘们便会上山采摘姊妹花和紫树叶，用来浸染糯米，蒸成姊妹饭。姊妹饭口感香糯，色彩丰富，其中绿色代表家乡美丽，红色象征家乡昌盛，黄色象征五谷丰登，紫色象征紫气东来，白色象征纯洁爱情。苗族姑娘们会将五彩姊妹饭送给心爱之人，勇敢追求自己的爱情。

The "Sister Rice" is actually glutinous rice in vibrant colors. When the Sister Festival is approaching, Miao girls will gather sister flowers and purple leaves from the mountains, then use them to dye glutinous rice. Each color of the "Sister rice" carries a beautiful symbolism: green represents the beauty of homeland, red symbolizes prosperity of the county, yellow signifies a bountiful harvest, purple embodies good fortune,while white symbolizes pure love. The Miao girls will give "Sister Rice" as presents to the person they have a crush on, so as to show their courage and express their affection.

节日当天，姑娘们会穿上苗族盛装，戴上精美银饰，前往参加游方对歌。从发冠项圈到手镯耳环，她们身上的每一件银饰都凝聚着匠人的巧思。盛装表面的苗族刺绣针脚细密，色彩艳丽，或讲述古老传说，或描绘自然万物，是苗族妇女代代相传的智慧结晶。

On this special day, the Miao women will adorn themselves in resplendent traditional attire and intricate silver headdresses, and then joyfully head to the festival gatherings. Each handcrafted silver ornament on their bodies—from towering headdresses to delicate earrings—bears testimony to the artistic ingenuity of Miao silversmiths. The exquisite Miao embroidery on their traditional attire—with its meticulous stitches and vibrant hues—serves as a living canvas for the women to document history and depict the wonders of nature.

台江苗族姊妹节，不仅是苗族青年男女表达爱意的节日，也是世界读懂中国民族文化的一扇窗口。2006年，苗族姊妹节被列为首批国家级非物质文化遗产名录，苗族姊妹节的活动也随之越办越丰富，万人唱响翁你河、万人盛装游演、苗家长桌宴、非遗文化展示等活动吸引游客从世界各地来到台江体验苗族风情。

The Sister Festival of Taijiang county is not only a celebration to express affection, but also a window to understand China's ethnic culture. Inscribed as one of China's first national intangible cultural heritage items in 2006, the festival has continually expanded its repertoire. Spectacles like ‘Ten Thousand Voices Singing at Wengni River’, the grand Miao costume parade, and the traditional long-table banquet have attracted global visitors to experience Miao traditions in Taijiang.

今年，台江县更是在保留传统活动的基础上，创新举办“村BA”篮球赛、“村跑”马拉松、姊妹T台秀等特色活动。诚邀海内外游客共赴这场浪漫春日的民族文化盛宴。

This year, while preserving traditional celebrations, Taijiang County curated a series of innovative activities including the "CunBA" rural basketball games, the "CunRun" marathon and the Sister fashion show. We cordially invite people all around the world to join this romantic spring celebration of Miao culture.
